Avient Corporation donates to Good Knights to help 50 children with beds – Morning Journal

Avient Corp., a large Lorain County company, stepped up to help get young people off the ground by sponsoring a construction day at its facility so workers could build 50 beds, according to a news release.

Avenir Corp. provides specialized and durable hardware solutions that turn customer challenges into opportunities, bringing new products to life for a better world, according to the release.

Demand for beds in Lorain County continues to soar, and Good Knights said since coronavirus pandemic restrictions were eased, requests for beds have been pouring in, according to the statement.

“Last year we delivered 384 beds,” the statement said. “This year we are on track to more than double our deliveries to over 800 beds.”

“Avient is proud to host a Good Knights bed build this year as part of our United Way campaign,” said Michaela Cunningham, Avient’s 2022 United Way Campaign Chair. “This initiative is an important initiative to help children in Lorain County sleep comfortably and safely because every child deserves a good night’s sleep.

“We appreciate our associates who helped build the bed and donated bedding items to support our local community. And thank you to Good Knights for their work and for allowing us to collaborate.

Roger Dorsey, president and chief executive of Good Knights, praised Avient’s support.

“We have been very fortunate this year with the support of companies like Avient, foundations, the business community, and civic and social organizations for financial assistance and help with the construction and delivery of beds,” Dorsey said. “We’ve had 636 volunteers contributing 2,242 hours so far this year building and delivering beds.”
